Staying the Course

© 2015 Carmen Waterman - The Protector of PentaclesThe protector in this card is seen kneeling above treasures that have been collected over time. He is on guard and will ensure that those things which you hold most valuable are safe. He has his back to the clouds as he is grounded in the practical world. His loyalty and commitment is unquestionable.

When the Protector of Pentacles comes into your life as a guide he is committed in his responsibilities and reliable. He is not afraid of hard work and patience, confident that the effort will harvest the rewards that are most critical.

For me this card today is a reminder that staying focused on the plan and the work will bring me the results I am looking for. Patience is not always an easy quality and I know it is something that I have to practise. The Protector of Pentacles gives me the reassurance I need to stay the course. His message that our health, well-being, home, family, career and dreams are all treasures to be nurtured and card for.

Particularly in this day and age of technology and the stream of media that suggests the potential for “instant gratification.” Where everyone is selling their own brand of “how to be instantly successful,” it is important to remember that fraud and false promises are something to be mindful of. When we find that we have been feeling agitated about delays and frustrated with the fact that nothing seems to be going in the direction we hoped it is important to take a deep breath. The Protector of Pentacles is a guide that reminds us that “anything worthwhile takes time,” and that the virtue of patience will help us to find personal peace and a strength that we can draw on to keep going.

I am thankful for this reminder today. I know that I am working towards things that truly matter and that connecting with the Protector of Pentacles gives me a renewed sense of commitment and hope.
